Standing Together: Support & Healing Resources After the Wildfires
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My heart aches for everyone in our community who has been affected by the recent wildfires. These events have upended lives, claimed homes, disrupted our sense of safety, and left many feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about what comes next. As someone who also calls Southern California home, I want you to know that you’re not alone in your struggles and fears—you are seen, heard, and deeply cared for.
During times like these, healing is not just about addressing physical concerns; it also means tending to our emotional and spiritual well-being. Know that I stand ready to support you on your journey toward restoration, in whatever form you need it most. Together, let us remember that the human spirit is strong, resilient, and capable of rising from these ashes stronger than before.
Before we close, I want to share some practical resources that will support your body’s healing process. In times like these, it’s important to take proactive steps for our physical well-being, so I’ve gathered a few recommendations and tools that may bring relief and protection. Below, you’ll find products, services, and links I trust to help you on your path to recovery.
With heartfelt concern and unwavering support,
Dr. Lea Kelley, The Dragon and Phoenix Healer
Biohacking your health for Smoke and Chemical Exposure
"People should... reduce their exposure, especially if they are in a vulnerable population, such as the elderly, young children or people with respiratory diseases." - Doug Brugge, Chair of the Department of Public Health Sciences (UConn School of Medicine)
FIRST:
Reduce your exposure. Do not exercise outdoors during the poor air quality days such as right now.
Wear a N95 mask for days over 100 AQI, especially for sensitive groups
The website Airnow.gov is only one resource of many to check:
SECOND:
Improve indoor air quality with a reputable air filter if you don’t already have one. My favorite is the Air & Surface Pro made by Vollara.
Vollara's Air & Surface Pro and others are equipped with our exclusive, award- winning ActivePure Technology that significantly reduces up to 99.99% of airborne and surface bacteria, viruses, mold, fungus + VOCs.
Note: Old air creates new issues: New studies suggest that when wildfire smoke rises and lingers for days or weeks, the sun “chemically cooks it.” It becomes more oxygenated and soluble making it dangerous in a different way. Scientists found that, “fresh smoke disrupted the ways cells store and use energy. But aged smoke led to higher levels of cell death.”
THIRD: Detoxification during and after exposure
Wildfire smoke can create a high toxin load, nutritional deficiencies and chronic stress which overwhelms our detox pathways (liver, kidneys, lungs, skin and lymphatic system) and damages our cells.
For those in the South Bay and have access to my office, I recommend:
Acupuncture
BEMER Vascular Therapy
Far Infrared Saunas. This is one source I have for a portable Far Infrared Sauna: Purchase Your Own Here

LASTLY: More Biohacking
Drinking plenty of fluids - Focus on warm water, herbal teas, and clear broths which can help keep the respiratory passages moist and facilitate the removal of mucus.
Diaphragmatic(belly) breathing exercises, such as inhaling through the nose, and exhaling through pursed lips can improve lung volume and oxygen transport.
Abdominalbreathing helps stress and anxiety, as well as asthma and COPD.
Consider Hydrogen Water if you have access. It produces antioxidants and has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. Here is a resource for a portable Hydrogen Water device called H2Fuel
Cell Defender's purpose is to attract and bind harmful chemicals then expel them from the body. Order Cell Defender liquid zeolite
